A national retailer came to us in July with a campaign brief and a tight window: 4,800 square metres of printed fence mesh, delivered to nine locations across three states, all in fourteen days.
We took it on. Here’s what the fortnight looked like on the production floor.
The right mesh for the job
Fence mesh is one of those products where getting the specification right at the start saves a lot of grief later. The team spent the first afternoon confirming the mesh weight, the print resolution, and the finishing — reinforced hem, brass eyelets every 400mm — before a single roll went on the machine.
That conversation happens on every job, but it matters most when the volume is large. A change at panel 200 is a change on all 200 panels.
Running through the night
Once artwork was locked in, our Durst P10 ran two shifts across the fortnight. The machine handles wide-format work at speeds that make jobs like this achievable — but only if the artwork, materials and finishing bench are all lined up alongside it.
That’s the part customers don’t always see. The print is one step; hemming, eyeleting, folding and freighting are the other four, and they all have to keep pace.
Nine trucks, three states, one deadline
By day twelve we had the last panels off the finishing bench. Freight went out the following morning, and every site was up before the campaign launch weekend.
Jobs like this are why we invested in the equipment and the space. If you’ve got a national rollout coming up, or a job with more mesh than your current supplier is comfortable with, give us a call on (02) 4956 5233.
